Group Experiences

Weekly Hikes

Every Saturday morning, we invite you to join our guided hikes in local nature reserves. These hikes are tailored for all skill levels, providing a safe space to connect with nature and others. As we walk, we’ll engage in conversations, mindfulness activities, and enjoy the beauty of our surroundings.

Backpacking Trips

For those ready to take their outdoor experience to the next level, our backpacking trips offer a chance to immerse yourself in the wilderness. These weekend excursions focus on building camaraderie while navigating stunning trails. Participants will learn essential backpacking skills, campfire cooking, and team-building exercises, all while surrounded by nature's tranquility. Our trips emphasize emotional support, personal growth, and the joy of adventure.

Backcountry Restoration Days

Join us for our Backcountry Restoration Days, where we give back to the very nature that nurtures us and participate in rebuilding the land that burned down in Northern Colorado. These hands-on events involve trail maintenance, tree removal, and habitat restoration in the backcountry of Sylvan Dale Ranch. Working together not only benefits the environment but also fosters a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Participants will have the opportunity to bond over shared goals and make a tangible impact on the landscape.

Community Gatherings

In addition to our outdoor activities, we host community gatherings where participants can come together to share their experiences, resources, and stories. These events include guest speakers, educational courses, workshops, and social activities designed to strengthen our community and provide ongoing support.

Education

CRF’s leadership takes you and your group through a hand-crafted presentation, teaching effective suicide prevention and raising awareness about veterans mental health. Our workshops, seminars, and outreach programs are here to teach you about how you can prevent tragedy within your community.

"Took this class just because I needed MIR hours. But, I was surprised to discover that I really enjoyed the class! One of the better classes I've taken in 40 years of law enforcement"
"I like that the class is interactive and real. You two are awesome and I truly appreciate you for putting this course on. I will definitely recommend this course to my coworkers."
"They did a good job of quickly developing a safe space. You led with your weaknesses. Love y'all Thanks!"
"Great class, would definitely recommend it! This could be longer than 2 days! So much great material and you two are super engaging and down to earth."
"I wasn't sure what to expect with the training but it has opened up mentally some things I need to work on. I appreciate all you do."

One-On-One Peer Support

CRF offers personalized guidance and support to help individuals navigate their mental health challenges, build resilience, and understand their trauma. While our primary focus is on veterans, our programs are also open to trauma survivors and victims of assault. Led by our founder Marshall, his practical and hands-on approach has helped countless individuals, including veterans, combat their struggles and find a path to recovery.

"The mission and organization of the Combat Recovery Foundation is informed by the depth of experience of its founder in the field of suicidology. It has long been understood that loneliness and social isolation are significant contributors to veteran suicide, but the global response to the COVID pandemic has forced this awareness to a new prominence. CRF offers life-changing experiences in nature, peer support, coaching, and community-building to help their clients realize their resilience and find their purpose. I am a proud supporter of their mission and vision, and I have witnessed the positive impact they have on the lives of many people who have served our country and society. They are truly making a difference in the world, and I encourage anyone who is interested to join them or donate to their cause."
