No. All Combat Recovery Foundation services are provided at no cost to the participant.
In certain cases, we charge organizations or agencies to deliver training or classes. However, the ground-level participant never pays to receive support.
We primarily serve military veterans and survivors of trauma, including survivors of assault. Our programs are veteran-led and survivor-informed, but we also support first responders and civilians when appropriate.
We provide one-on-one peer coaching, education and advocacy, and programs designed to foster resilient communities.
A core part of our work involves community service projects completed alongside our participants. These projects help individuals reestablish a sense of purpose and belonging through meaningful action.
We also provide crisis intervention services to hundreds of veteran-serving organizations, and local, state, and federal government entities, as well as businesses, allowing them to stay focused on their mission while we support people in crisis.
All of our services are designed to:
Restore purpose
Strengthen connection
Put people back on mission
We don’t just support recovery — we help people rebuild their role in the world.

Many people join to build resilience, community, and meaning before things reach a breaking point. Prevention works best before the emergency.
Yes. Our programs are grounded in evidence-based practices shown to reduce suicide risk and strengthen long-term resilience.
Our approach focuses on proven protective factors, including:
Social connection
Purpose and service
Peer support
Physical activity
Trauma-informed practices
Therapeutic outdoor experiences
These elements are supported by research from the CDC, SAMHSA, and other public health and behavioral science organizations. We combine science with real-world action to help people rebuild connection, confidence, and mission.
While you do not have to be a veteran to volunteer or work for Combat Recovery Foundation, the majority of our leadership are veterans, including the founder.
We believe lived experience matters. Veteran leadership helps ensure our programs remain grounded in trust, credibility, and real-world understanding of the communities we serve.
