Mitchell served in the United States Navy as a Seabee from 2012 to 2019. Post-military, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in African American History. He has contributed to cutting-edge technology at SpaceX, managed teams in finance, and his passion for community and music led him to engage actively with underserved youth in Los Angeles through Hip Hop for Change, a nonprofit organization that works to empower K-12 students to harness the power of music for self-expression. Mitchell later leveraged his skills in communications and media as a publicist for several Billboard 100 artists in Los Angeles. He has held several roles within the nonprofit sector to include organizations that focus on health equity and community engagement. Mitchell also brings a background from the field of mental health and addiction where he carries this passion into his ongoing dedication to the veteran community.
