
Heston Russell is a retired Australian Special Forces Major, decorated combat veteran, and veteran advocate dedicated to strengthening support for veterans and their families. After 16 years of military service, including leadership appointments and operational deployments across Timor-Leste, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Iraq, and within U.S. Special Operations environments, Heston transitioned his leadership experience into veteran-focused advocacy and community impact. He is the founder of Voice of a Veteran and the Managing Director of Veteran Support Force, an organization created to proactively support veterans and families while advancing meaningful reform in veteran wellbeing and transition support. He is also the founder of Veteran Games, a veteran-community initiative developed through Veteran Support Force to promote mental health, physical wellbeing, purpose, teamwork, and positive veteran identity through adaptive and competitive events. Through international collaboration with organizations such as Combat Recovery Foundation, Heston continues to help strengthen veteran community, connection, resilience, and recovery on a broader global scale. Heston is also a public speaker, author, and community leader whose work focuses on leadership, resilience, identity, emotional intelligence, mental health, and the power of connection in life after service.
