Derek Nykamp is a Northern Colorado business owner, collaborator, and community advocate whose life was transformed through recovery. After years of struggling with substance abuse and being in and out of jail, Derek made the decision to change his life on April 19, 2020. With the support and accountability of Weld County Drug Court (ATC), he rebuilt his foundation and committed to a new path forward.
Today, Derek is the owner of NOCO Repair, a remodeling company serving Northern Colorado, and Colorful Colorado Creations, a growing specialty hot sauce brand. Since entering recovery, he has built two successful businesses, a strong and healthy marriage with his wife Alexa, and a reputation rooted in hard work, generosity, and ambition.
Derek’s collaboration with CRF is both professional and personal. Through product partnerships and volunteer efforts, he surrounds himself with individuals committed to helping others and creating meaningful change. Having experienced firsthand what accountability, structure, and community support can do, Derek is passionate about contributing to organizations that offer hope and opportunity to those working toward recovery.
He believes transformation is possible, but it requires people and programs willing to invest in others. That is why supporting CRF matters.
